Arrange for someone to take you home after your cataract surgery and to help care for you until your vision returns. Take it easy for the first few days and follow the advice of your doctor for recovering at home. If you experience severe pain, loss of vision, increasing redness in the eye, or the sudden appearance of dots or flashes of light in the eye after your surgery, contact the hospital immediately.
