Leaning on technology to stay connected this holiday season

The holidays are often a time to gather with friends and family and celebrate the season. Due to the global pandemic, this year is looking different than many Canadians had hoped. While we may not physically be with friends and family to celebrate, that doesn’t mean we can’t feel connected to one another. By harnessing the power of technology, we can connect with loved ones from home using virtual tools like video chat or through the phone.

Consider setting up designated times to chat with loved ones and family throughout the holidays and reach out to those who may be on their own to talk to them and wish them well. A phone call or video chat with someone may just be what they need to brighten their spirits!

Maintaining social connections, throughout the holidays and beyond, can help reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation. So, while this holiday season may look a little different, we can still make the most of it and feel emotionally close to get through these challenging times.

We wish you and yours a happy, healthy holiday!
