World Alzheimer’s Month: raising awareness and challenging the stigma

September is World Alzheimer’s Month, an international campaign by Alzheimer’s Disease International to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia. The most common type of dementia is Alzheimer’s disease, which accounts for an estimated 60-80% of cases. Dementia is so prevalent that chances are if you don’t already have or care for someone who has the condition, you know someone who does.
