September 29th is World Heart Day, which aims to raise awareness about heart disease and stroke as the world’s leading causes of death. It’s the perfect time to consider your risk factors and the key prevention steps you can take to maintain a healthy heart. This year, the World Heart Federation outlines four main risk factors that influence poor heart health, all of which can be controlled with improved lifestyle habits. They are: unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, smoking and harmful use of alcohol.
