Got It, Hide thisA recent study has shown that combining eye care and mental health care in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) rehabilitation can help to offset depression caused by vision loss. Occupational therapists taught participants how to use low-vision devices, make changes around the home, increase their social activities, and set goals. This approach, combined with medical management of AMD, helped reduce risk of clinical depression.
